I reserved Abequa for my husbands’ thirtieth birthday. We had a fantastic time. There were six of us. The apartment was exactly as shown in the pictures. Karen was extremely helpful before and throughout our stay. We requested early check-in and an extended check-out. Karen was really accommodating and we were very appreciative, it helped us a lot. Joseph the house manager was super! On arrival he met us and explained everything and made sure we were settled in. He put us in touch with a great taxi driver. The bus stop is really close by. When using the bus, it’s best to have change ready, note: buses can be crowed when the children are coming out of school. We booked a villa chef to cook dinner on my husbands’ special birthday (Rashida Sampson – recommended by Karen). Rashida was fantastic and her food was absolutely delicious ! Thanks Karen for recommending. We really enjoyed our stay.
We had a lovely time here! We felt completely safe with a locked security gate and security guard on duty 24/7 (not that you really need it, as Barbados is a pretty safe island). The pool was perfect for our little ones. Location was perfect with a huge Massey’s supermarket a mile or two away in Holetown. The villa was clean and nicely decorated with plenty of space for our family of 6. The grounds are meticulously well maintained. Joseph was so nice in accommodating our needs. You won’t be disappointed if you stay here. Our family had an amazing vacation filled with wonderful memories! I highly recommmend dining at The Fish Pot in Speightstown. Reserve an ocean view table around 5:30 to watch the sunset. Amazing!
Spacious apartment with all the self-catering facilities you can think of, including a washing machine and multiple TV channels if you can take yourself away from the beautiful beaches nearby. Loved the balcony where we ate breakfast every morning and relaxed in the evening.
It is perfectly situated between Holetown and Speighstown with buses running every few minutes for US $1!!
Close-by to great restaurants like The Cliff, Cin Cin, Fusion-Limegrove Rooftop, Lonely Star and Juma to mention a few. Spent many days on the gorgeous beach at Santi Bar where they have comfy lounge beds and good food and live music. We were within walking distance to beautiful beaches with fabulous sunsets!!
There are 2 wonderful swimming pools at the apartment building if you prefer to the beaches.
Overall, we couldn’t have asked for much better!! We’ll be back.

Very nice apartment that had good sized bedrooms and everything you would hope to find, including a washing machine, so that you don’t really need to take as much luggage! They even provided the beach towels, so leaving space for the duty free shopping at Lime Grove shopping area. The pool is lovely and quiet and very well maintained. Great location for the buses as the stop is literally just outside the secure villa complex. The buses are only bd$2 no matter which stop you get off at so great value. Don’t be fooled though by the shape of the 50p looking coins as they are actually $1. Would definitely recommend you arrange for a welcome pack because if you arrive on a Sunday you will only find the petrol station open and it is very expensive. Failing that put some goodies in your case for that welcome cuppa on arrival. There is also a lady selling some tasty treats outside the school in the mornings which a really worth a try. Very convenient location for the Royal Westmoreland, Apes Hill and Sandy Lane golf courses.
A fantastic stay which we thoroughly enjoyed.
Just returned from a week staying at the Abequa ! I stayed by myself, having already spent the previous two weeks on the island with my family in a villa near Glitter Bay! The apartment was excellent and had all the amenities you needed! Even a fridge on the very large veranda for your bottles of Banks’s. A small modern secure complex, on the best coast in Barbados, it provided an excellent base! Alleynes beach is a short walk away, as is John Moores rum shack, next to which is the fresh fish stall and fresh fruit and veg stall, where you don’t pay supermarket prices. You can actual walk to two fabulous beaches, Gibbs and Mullins. At Mullins on at Sunday night (5.30pm), there is live music with a brilliant local band, who play a lot of older and new music. I suggest that you make use of the from and to taxi service from the airport but rent a car for a few days to have a real look at the island. Bathsheba, North Point, Oistins, Lawrence Gap, Crane Beach (Sunday morning gospel breakfast), Bottom Bay, Silver sands, Miami Beach, Harrison Caves. If you do not want to do all that, then just chill out on Alleynes, Gibbs Mullins beaches. The local yellow reggae buses are brilliant and run very, very, regularly and for 2 bds you can get anywhere you want. Holetown is a long walk or a short bus ride away, is a great place, the Lime Bar in Lime Grove, the designer shopping centre l recommend! Happy hour 6-7pm, the food is well priced and a band on Saturday nights! Holetown has everything you want, supermarket, butchers, restaurants and high fashion shops. Not to be missed only on a Sunday night is 1st Street, it comes alive with hundreds of people, pubs, clubs, karaoke bars, a real buzz! As Oistins is on a Friday night! Surfside Restaurant is a Sports bar, on the beach behind the Police station :o), happy hours is 4.30 to 6.30. The are some lovely restaurants on Barbados,The Cliff, Tides, Chin Chin etc However Lone Star is just a walk away from the complex and breakfast is just 42 bds for a full English. For a top notch restaurant is brilliant, as is the setting, right on the beach, these prices are reflected through the lunch and dinner menus. If all you want is just to kick back then you can as l said do this on the local beaches or beside the lovely pool at the Lantana! I am biased about Barbados as i don’t like just the place I LOVE IT.
Our stay in beautiful Barbados was made perfect by our accomodations. This apartment was clean and well stocked complete with a nice large lanai overlooking the pool. The fridge is small, but since we chose to only make breakfasts in our condo it served us fine. I would definitely stay here again!
Just been to Abequa for the 3rd time and loved it yet again! The apartment is fresh clean and provides everything you would want for a relaxing holiday! Love the location between Holetown and Mullins Beach. The John Moore bar is only down the road which is a perfect place to have a drink and watch the sun set on the way back from the beach. Spent some of our days at Santi Beach next to Lone Star which was great and the beds are the best. You can’t beat Mullins for a busier day and the food is consistently good. Love Cin Cin and Lonestar for an expensive evening out. The weather was amazing as usual and I miss sitting on Abequa’s deck enjoying the view. I highly recommend it and know you won’t be disappointed. Enjoy! ….until next year!
Just returned from our second trip to Abequa. The perfect apartment for a relaxing sun holiday. Great location with reliable local bus service to Holetown and beyond. 3 minute walk to amazing beach. Everything you would want from a holiday apartment. Fresh and smartly decorated, very comfortable with large deck, very well equipped, even down to the hair dryer! TV, Wifi. Thoroughly enjoyed our trip and will be back again. Highly recommend it.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Abequa. Ideally located between Holetown and Speightstown and easily accessed by bus which stops outside the door. Located in the second block furthest from the main road. 2 minutes from the beach and John Moore’s rum shack. The first floor apartment is tastefully furnished with all modern conveniences and a wonderful dining balcony. The complex itself is well maintained and has 24 hour security. We had two wonderful dining experiences at The Cliff Restaurant and CinCin by the Sea. Wonderful Holiday…Same time Same place 2016 if not sooner.
