Desert Rose is a superb villa in a wonderful country. We all felt completely secure in the gated Pavilion Grove. The villa is roomy and has everything a family on holiday requires (there were 8 in our group). Because the pool is not too deep (just three feet) its was ideal to have our 4 year old to float about in. The villa has its own parking space right at the side which is great.
Every bedroom has its own bathroom facilities so everyone had privacy. There was plenty of room for social times on the veranda or by the pool. We enjoyed breakfast outside everyday. The villa also has ceiling fans as well as air-conditioning, just in case you don’t like a/c.
Karen, our superhost, was always considerate and professional. She responded swiftly to all of my questions. The concierge service was excellent, always on hand and with lots of local knowledge. We really appreciated the driver service from the airport.
I totally recommend Desert Rose. We all had a fantastic time. We were thrilled with everything and would most certainly recommend the villa. Thank you.
Totally perfect for our group of eight adults. All of the rooms are spotlessly clean and there is lots of space throughout the villa. The kitchen is really well stocked with everything you need. Desert Rose is just a few minutes easy walk to a superb beach that we have become familiar with. It’s really near to the Lone Star Restaurant and The Top Deck for great beach dining. We are eight very happy people who will all be re-booking as soon as the flight dates are made available!!
We found Desert Rose to be well appointed and very clean. The villa is well looked after. It was just a bit too far for us to walk into Holetown but the buses are everywhere and very frequent and inexpensive so it wasn’t a problem. The property manager Jacintha was on hand to help with any queries and she made our beach arrangements at ‘Top Deck’.
We had a fabulous stay. We really like the location and Jacintha. All we required was attended to right away. We would absolutely love to return.
My family and I stayed a week here and had an amazing time! The house was spotless, had plenty of towels and sheets, and was even stocked with basic food necessities, water, bread, eggs etc for the next morning. A huge help when you arrive at night with little children! We were greeted by the hostess Jacintha who was wonderful ! She even babysat our kids one night so we could go out. The location is convenient, very close drive to Holetown and a short walk to the beach! All in all a wonderful stay. Thanks very much!
Desert Rose was well suited for our holiday in Barbados. The villa is just a short drive to a marine sanctuary on the beach, where you can swim and snorkel. Grocery shopping was simple at the Massy Supermarket in Holetown. There are excellent bars and restaurants, and we enjoyed great sunsets. At Millie’s fish-market we found fresh fish daily. Desert Rose is perfectly equipped and we made good use of the BBQ. We used the plunge pool and the deck every day. We enjoyed our dinner on the veranda, serenaded by the singing tree frogs! We would all love to stay at Desert Rose again and hope to be back soon!
I completely recommend this villa for everyone in search of a really peaceful, relaxed, and scenic get-away. The accommodation are lovely and a reasonable price. Hosts supplied lots of recommendations and local suggestions. Four of us stayed at Desert Rose and we each had our own bedroom with a private bathroom and temperature controlled air conditioning. We cooked and ate al fresco each morning before we took the short stroll to the beach or we would hop onto a bus for another adventure. We miss Barbados!
Our stay was great. The villa is very well set out and every thing is of really good quality and exactly as listed on the web site. It’s a five minute stroll to a gorgeous beach and a just short bus or taxi journey to Holetown. Jacintha did an excellent job of settling us in on arrival and was accommodating for our check out. I hope we are able to return again soon !
An absolutely beautiful house in the heart of St. James, Barbados. Immaculately clean, with 4 big double bedrooms and large bathrooms (3 of which are en-suite). This lovely house is typically colonial style and located in a perfect spot. Five minutes from Holetown, the shops and of course, bars and restaurants. It’s also just a couple of minutes walk from the stunning beaches at St James. We walked down the beach almost everyday and had lunch at the famous JuJu’s and The Lone Star, which are both literally minutes away too. We found at great spot with extremely comfortable beds outside Santi beach bar, where the famous ‘Freddie’ attends to your every need with humour, charm and courtesy. The house is ideal for families, groups of friends and/or couples. We went as a group of 4 mature ladies and had a fantastic time. We will most definitely be coming back to this winner of a house at St. James!!
This property is an authentic colonial house that made me feel like I was in the “real” Barbados. It is very spacious and you have every facility you need for a wonderful holiday. The bedrooms were all lovely with large en suite bathrooms and great showers. It has a spacious verandah with ceiling fans that was comfortable and a great space to either dine or just to have a nightcap. It also has a cooling plunge pool with additional space for sunbathing or having lunch. It felt very safe and the outside areas were well tended giving a very pretty overall impression. It was less than 5 minutes to walk to a fantastic beach across the road which has very comfortable sunbeds and a couple of great, reasonably priced, beach restaurants serving fresh fish etc. However, if you want to spoil yourself the Lonestar is just there as well! There are many fantastic restaurants only a short taxi ride away and you can be in Holetown in 5mins. I would highly recommend this property!
This beautiful, comfortable, spacious and well appointed property was the ideal base for our wonderful holiday in Barbados. We particularly loved dining on the verandah and lounging by the plunge pool in the late afternoon after a day at the beach. Service was excellent: Karen at Paradise Rentals ensured all went smoothly prior to our trip. Veronica shopped for us in advance and looked after us very well during our stay and Jacintha, a very kind and cheerful lady, kept the house spotless for us. Barbados has so much to offer, but our highlights this time would be the Gospel breakfast at the Crane Hotel then a day at Crane Beach, lunch at Champers (fabulous restaurant and not as pricey as some), North Point’s spectacular scenery and the Animal Flower Cave, a visit to St Nicholas Abbey, a stroll along the boardwalk at Hastings, a turtle watching trip with Silver Moon, cocktails at Sharkeys bar in St Lawrence Gap, lunch at the Round House at Bathsheba or at the Lone Star (walking distance) and dinner at the Tides in Holetown (fabulous surroundings and good food, although silly prices). Our favourite beaches were the Garden (our nearest), Paynes Bay, Mullins and Accra / Rockley (great beach bar, much better and cheaper than the one at Mullins). As regards 3 Pavilion Grove I cannot recommend this property highly enough and only hope it is available when we next visit Barbados!
Truly a little haven. We had the most wonderful Christmas in this beautiful property which has been decorated to the highest of standard and excellent taste. Location was perfect and Karen Whittaker exceeded our expectations as we received a first class service from Paradise Rentals. We look forward to returning soon as we really had a ball. The icing on the cake for our teenagers was meeting Justin Bieber at Fairmont Beach.
My family and I had a blast when we visited Barbados. Plenty of space for 8 of us, and the location was perfect. Our favorite locations were Ju-Ju’s and by the end of the trip we ran across a bar/restaurant near the Lone Star hotel called Santi’s. The best beach chairs and beach bar we ran into towards the later portion of our trip. We had a blast and will definitely be coming again in the future!!!
The Andrews Family had such a wonderful time when we stayed at Pavillion Grove, Barbados. The luxury villa was a dream and we had a very friendly and helpful welcome and even had welcome beers in the fridge for us. The location was perfect, moments away from The Lone Star and JuJu’s and a really easy drive to different spots like Mullins, Holetown and many Rum Shacks!! The villa was kept immaculately and when we’d had enough of the beach which was literally 2 minutes away we could saunter back and relax by the pool or the lovely terrace watching baby monkeys and hummingbirds. I would highly recommend you stay at 3 Pavilion Grove in Hole Town, St. James, we will certainly be back when we are looking for a villa in Barbados!
My family and friends visited Barbados in early August 2014 and on arrival at 3 Pavilion Grove we were all greeted and welcomed to the villa with friendly introductions and a guided tour of the splendid property.
We arrived quite late into the afternoon / early evening which made shopping difficult, however – essential items such as bread, tea bags, milk and cereal were provided for our arrival. A critical supply of Banks Beer was also awaiting us in the fridge!
The villa is located in a nice and quiet cul-de-sac location and is wonderfully positioned for the beach (literally a nice and leisurely 5 minute walk across the road) and the location is also ideal for access to local restaurants and bars (you must try Ju – Ju’s beach bar! Well worth a visit for a tuna salad and a rum punch or two). The villa is beautiful and provided everything we needed and more. The small pool to the side made afternoons both relaxing and enjoyable as the youngsters cooled down after a hard day’s work at the beautiful Barbados beaches…
The villa was kept immaculate by the cleaner who visited twice per week. Nothing was too much trouble for this kind lady.
We can’t thank our hosts enough – we had a fantastic two week holiday and we hope that we are able to have a return visit to 3 Pavilion Grove in the very near future. Thank you all so much!
This was our first time in Barbados and it was my partners 50th birthday – we were warmly greeted at the property and all the food we had pre-ordered was in place (even the 21 bottles of tonic water – we has asked for 2L!) The location is great in a quiet gated cul-de-sac and the house, No. 3 Pavilion Grove, is just stunning, it’s everything it is in the pictures and more. The beach is a 2 minute walk away and the famous Lone Star Restaurant is just down the road and a must for a visit. For a more informal beach bar Ramshackles is very hard to beat, enjoy a beer and watch the sun set! We will be going back again!
